Shahid Kapur and Kareena KapoorAfter Bollywood��s golden couple Shahid and Kareena abruptly parted ways, seems like when it comes to celebrity couples, anything can happen.
While Kareena was quick to resurrect a new romance with Saif Ali Khan, who himself was busy hopping in and out of relationships, Shahid supposedly found a shoulder to cry in ��good friend�� Vidya Balan.
Bollywood or Hollywood, relationships are anything but stable in the sizzling show industry. The paparazzi were really over-worked this year with one celeb break up after another. Rumour mills were running rough as stars came together and stars separated.

Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor
This has been the biggest and the most shocking break up of 2007. Shahid and Kareena announced that they are no longer a couple after their much-awaited blockbuster Jab we Met.
The main reason for the break-up? None other than the very eligible Saif Ali Khan, who is said to be smitten by the Kapoor lass. If gossip mongers are to be believed the trouble started on the sets of Yashraj Films 'Tashan' in Ladakh where Saif and Kareena instantly got attracted to each other.

However, some industry insiders claim that the split was caused not because of Saif Ali Khan, who was rumoured to be dating Kareena, but because a certain actress has made inroads into Shahid's life.
Kim Sharma and Yuvraj Singh
Just few months ago, everything was fine between hot babe Kim Sharma and cricketer Yuvraj Singh, but suddenly all went wrong and their 4-year relationship came to an end this year.
Though there never was any public acknowledgement of their affair by the couple, their intimacy was apparently more than just friendship. At one time they seemed inseparable and attended all the parties and social dos together. In fact, Yuvi even got into an ugly brawl at his birthday party when a guest misbehaved with Kim.
Though, the exact reason of the split is not known, it is believed that Yuvraj's mother Shabnam Singh didn't approve this relationship due to Kim's revealing outfits. But Yuvraj's friends had a different story to tell; they claim that Yuvraj himself cut off the connections with Kim because of Kim's abusive behavior.

It wasn't a happy ending for prize-winning author Salman Rushdie and his model wife Padma Lakshmi's love story as they announced their intentions to divorce each other this year.
The exact reason of the split and who among the couple is responsible for the divorce is not known. Statements from both parties sent mixed signals with Rushdie indicating that Lakshmi is leaving him, while Lakshmi's statement indicating a mutual decision.
Lakshmi and Rushdie, whose three previous marriages also ended in divorce, married in April 2004.
Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake
During their entire, nearly four-year relationship, Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake endured rumors that they were either breaking up or getting engaged. In January, the pair finally announced the former.
Cameron, 34, and Timberlake, 25, met in April 2003 at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, and by July, Cameron had joined her new beau on the road as he toured with Christina Aguilera. They seemed at first like an unlikely pair because of their nine-year age difference and reputation for unstable relationships but they surprised skeptics, by staying together despite ruthless rumours of discord. But as they say, all good things must come to an end, the relationship ended for unknown reasons.
Since the breakup, Timberlake��s been dating Jessica Biel, while Cameron has, most recently, been linked to John Mayer and Bradley Cooper.
Saif Ali Khan and and Rosa Catalano
When Saif Ali Khan separated from Amrita Singh, it appeared that he had found long-lasting love in Italian beauty Rosa Catalano; but alas, the passionate live-in relationship couldn��t see another season.
There were several rumours regarding the couple's innumerable differences but the couple continued to deny their disagreements. The pair perhaps was trying to work it out but after Saif got hospitalised the two decided to part ways.
There were rumours that the reason for friction between Saif and Rosa was that Saif didn��t want Rosa to pursue a career in the glam world. Saif is currently seeing Kareena Kapoor and Rosa is all set to start her career in tinsel town.
Lara Dutta and Kelly Dorjee
After eight years of togetherness, Bollywood's steadiest couple Lara Dutta and Kelly Dorjee seems to be headed for splitsville.
While the real reason of the split is still not clear, it is being speculated that the two lovers have had too much of each other and that love has begun to evaporate from their relationship. There are rumours that the relationship soured when Kelly disapproved of Lara's close bonding with her male co-stars.

Another relationship that has gone sour is the one between filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor and his actress wife Suchitra Krishnamurthy (of Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa fame). The couple decided to end their marriage after a troubled period. Married for 8 years, they also have a six year old daughter.
Suchitra accused Priety Zinta for being the reason of the break up. Things further turned ugly between the two ladies when Suchitra called Priety a ��man-eater�� and publicly blamed her for ruining her marriage with Shekhar. Priety denied all the allegations by Suchitra.
Nicholas Sarkozy and Cecilia Sarkozy
This year saw the first divorce of a French president while in office - a President whose wife and son were the highlight of his public image. French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife of 11 years, Cecilia Sarkozy, divorced 'by mutual consent' recently.
Cecilia Sarkozy has had a successful career as a model and parliamentary aide and has said that she never wanted to be a traditional first lady. Both were already divorcees when they married each other in 1996, with two children each from their previous marriages. France's ex-first lady admitted a two-year affair which led to her split from President Nicolas Sarkozy and blamed politics and its alienating effects for ending her marriage.
Kate Moss and Pete Doherty
UK��s hottest couple, Pete Doherty and Kate Moss, split up after the beautiful supermodel dumped Pete, arguing she cannot stand his way of life. Kate and Doherty dated on and off for two years, with their relationship marked by Doherty's repeated arrests on drug charges. However, despite such rocky romance, Doherty always insisted that the couple plans to marry as soon as he could stay drug-free.
Things turned worst when Kate saw pictures showing Doherty with a needle in his hand while surrounded by drug paraphernalia. She kicked Doherty out of her home after discovering that he also had a fling with a South African model.
Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson
After meeting in 2006 on the sets of You, Me and Dupree and dating quietly for several months, two of Hollywood's best-loved blondes separated just as quietly in May. The romance looked to be the real deal, with the couple claiming to find soul mates in each other, but the happiness was short-lived.
